Artist Statement
Solidarity over solitude is an ode to the quiet power of standing together. It reflects the belief that human unity, mutual support, and collective action hold greater value than facing the world alone. It is a call to prioritise community and shared purpose, especially in times of crisis or when working toward common goals.
This print celebrates the beauty of human connection - how voices grow stronger in harmony, how burdens become lighter when shared, and how healing so often begins with the simple act of showing up for one another.
The Strength Series
We are inviting artists to respond to the theme of ‘Strength’ in its many forms – whether it’s the raw power of figures like Atlas, the relentless force of the Hulk, or the enduring, nurturing bond between mother and child. Strength can also manifest in the resilience of the human mind or the deep, unshakable roots that connect us to our heritage and communities.
The Strength Series is a rotating mural and print project that asks each artist to interpret what strength means to them. The wall on Wood Street, Walthamstow is home to the series, created in collaboration with Pure Muscles Gym.
